Why Carnegie Mellon?

Earn a Prestigious American Degree Close to Home

Not long ago, a world-renowned degree from Carnegie Mellon University was available only to the best and brightest students in the United States. Today, it’s available to a select number of brilliant young students right here in Qatar’s Education City.

A Century of Excellence

Founded in 1900 by industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie and located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania—the birthplace of American industrial innovation—Carnegie Mellon University has always been guided by the motto of our founder, “my heart is in the work.” We encourage our Qatar campus students to spend a semester or a summer at our Pittsburgh campus to experience its energy, collaborate with other students and access additional courses based on your interests.

The Tradition Continues in Qatar

Today in Qatar, just as in the United States and in select locations around the globe, Carnegie Mellon delivers a distinctive and world-class education unlike any other.  As a student here, you will harness research and discovery, innovation, creative thinking and the use of bold new knowledge developed on campus to become not only a leader in your field, but also to serve our larger global community.

As a Carnegie Mellon student in Qatar, the standards are high, but the rewards are great indeed.
