Secondary School Preparation

Students come to Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar from all over the world. Because your school background and curricula may be very different from another student’s, we offer fairly general guidelines for how to best prepare for undergraduate admission to Carnegie Mellon in Qatar.

First, Challenge Yourself

We recommend that you always take the most challenging courses available, no matter what your educational background. This is the best way to prepare for the rigorous academic expectations of university, particularly Carnegie Mellon. How hard you’ve worked in secondary school gives us a good idea of how well you’ll perform once you arrive on campus.

Don’t Just Meet, But Exceed, Our Guidelines

Our course guidelines represent the MINIMUM amount of preparation necessary to be considered for admission to Carnegie Mellon, and they pertain to all three degree programs: Business Administration, Computer Science and Information Systems.

Overall, the best advice we can give you is to do your very best.  Consider your remaining years in high school a great opportunity to show the world what you can do. Because when you carry that attitude with you to Carnegie Mellon, the world really is watching.

Plan a Personal Visit

All prospective students are encouraged to schedule a visit to Carnegie Mellon in Education City and meet with a member of the admission staff.
