Information for Parents and Families

Your child is preparing to embark on a life-changing journey. Right now, he or she is probably thinking about choosing a major, living on campus and making new friends.

As a parent or family member, you have other things on your mind. This section will address some of the more common issues for parents, and if you have any additional questions or needs, do not hesitate to contact us at the Office of Admission.

Safety

Rest assured that Education City is well staffed around the clock. 24-hour security is in place in all of the buildings and around the perimeter of campus throughout the school year.

On-Campus Convenience

Education City offers all the necessities students need, including an ATM machine, courier service, travel agency, drycleaner, post office, Qatar National Bank office, and a Qtel (Qatar's predominant telecommunications company) branch.

Dining

On-campus residence halls are equipped with kitchen facilities for our students’ convenience. For Education City residents, daily meals are served in on-campus cafeterias and are available for an extra fee.  The Carnegie Mellon building also includes a Subway, a Coffee Cottage café, and a juice bar. Students can also find a Starbucks and a Costa Coffee on campus.

Laundry

Laundry services are available for students in the residence halls.

Shuttle Service

It’s easy to get into and out of Education City via a daily shuttle service from Education City to various destinations around Doha.
